Mubasher: Gold settled lower on Friday, adding 0.4% for the week.
Comex December gold declined by $4.9, or 0.3%, to settle at $1,468.5 per ounce.
By 06:51 pm GMT, the US dollar index (DXY), which measures the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, went down by 0.19% to 97.97.
